Hi. I wish I had a job selling squirrels. They're so furry, and give you toothy grins. Unless they're rabid, in which case they will eat your face off and then find the rest of your family. That's not so good, I guess.

SOTE Sygit, Hearth & Hymn

Sam Cooper and Elisabeth Pixley-Fink have known each other a long time, and worked together almost from jump, in Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor, and all points between and beyond. They discovered early on that the hot fire and cool breeze of their voices combine into an extraordinarily compelling sound, lullabies to sing while marching into battle. This is a duo that understands humans have basic emotional needs, and they deserve to have them met. Gently fighting the patriarchy for well over a decade, Hearth and Hymn are kitchen music for the next century.

Jen Sygit is a vehicle for amazing sounds and stories, driven from her heart in Lansing to all over Michigan and the world.  Whether doing ethereal folk tunes, crooning sultry swing numbers or shaggy dog stories disguised as country ballads, Jen isn't afraid to tiptoe right up to the lines separating genres and taunt the gatekeepers on the other side with salty honesty. Respect for all, reverence for none, fun for the whole family:  Jen Sygit shows that maturity doesn't equal boring.
